Synopsis

Pihak kepolisian mendiskusikan “kasus kira” dengan l. setelah menanyakan tentang waktu kematian para korban, l menyimpulkan bahwa kira kemungkinan adalah seorang mahasiswa dengan konsep keadilan yang naif. ia meminta data tentang bagaimana para korban dipublikasikan dan mulai curiga bahwa kira memiliki akses ke informasi kepolisian. karena petugas polisi yang menangani kasus kira, soichiro yagami, adalah ayah light, light dapat memantau pergerakan pihak berwenang. sementara itu, ryuk memberi tahu light bahwa ia sedang diikuti. ia juga menjelaskan bahwa shinigami tidak hanya mendapatkan rentang hidup orang-orang yang telah mereka ambil sebelum waktunya, mata mereka dapat melihat nama dan rentang hidup setiap orang yang melayang di atas kepala mereka. ia memberi light pilihan untuk menukar setengah dari rentang hidupnya yang tersisa dengan mata shinigami, seperti mata ryuk.
