Synopsis

Bagian pertama dari episode ini menampilkan L yang menceritakan kejadian-kejadian dari 25 episode pertama. Kisah kasus Kira ini terungkap telah ditinggalkan oleh L sebagai catatan prestasinya sebagai detektif. Catatan itu dihapus oleh Light ketika ia menemukannya. Tim investigasi menunjuk Light sebagai penerus L dan setuju untuk tidak mengumumkan kematian L secara terbuka. Light belajar menggunakan kekuatan yang diwarisinya, sambil melanjutkan eksekusinya sebagai Kira. Acara ini melompat maju dalam waktu lima tahun, menggambarkan Light bergabung dengan Badan Kepolisian Nasional (NPA) Jepang pada tahun 2012, pada usia 23 tahun. Lima tahun sebelumnya, tak lama setelah kematian L, komputer L ditampilkan secara otomatis memberi tahu seorang pria tua tentang nasib L. Pria itu kemudian mengungkapkan informasi ini kepada dua orang anak. (sumber: wikipedia)
