Synopsis

Di luar sekolah menengahnya, Light Yagami menemukan buku catatan yang mengklaim dapat membunuh siapa pun yang nama dan wajahnya diketahui oleh pemiliknya. Awalnya, ia menganggap “Death Note” itu sebagai tipuan, tetapi, setelah menguji kekuatannya, ia menemukan bahwa klaim ini memang nyata. Pemilik aslinya, seorang Shinigami bernama Ryuk, mendekati Light dan menjelaskan bahwa buku catatan itu sekarang miliknya. Karena Light adalah pemilik baru, ia adalah satu-satunya yang dapat melihat dan berinteraksi dengan Ryuk. Shinigami itu juga mengatakan bahwa ketika waktu kematian Light tiba, Ryuk akan menjadi orang yang menuliskan namanya di bukunya. Light memutuskan untuk menggunakan kekuatan Death Note untuk membersihkan dunia dari kejahatan dan menjadi dewa dunia baru yang damai. (sumber: wikipedia)
