Synopsis

Di kota Kurozu-cho, Kirie Goshima menjalani kehidupan yang cukup normal bersama keluarganya. Suatu hari, saat ia berjalan ke stasiun kereta untuk bertemu pacarnya, Shuuichi Saito, ia melihat ayah Saito sedang menatap cangkang siput di sebuah gang. Tanpa berpikir panjang, ia menceritakan kejadian itu kepada Shuuichi, yang mengatakan bahwa ayahnya akhir-akhir ini bertingkah aneh. Shuuichi mengungkapkan keinginannya yang semakin kuat untuk meninggalkan kota itu bersama Kirie, dengan mengatakan bahwa kota itu terinfeksi spiral.

Namun, obsesi ayahnya dengan bentuk itu segera terbukti mematikan, memulai serangkaian kejadian mengerikan dan tidak dapat dijelaskan yang menyebabkan penduduk Kurozu-cho menjadi gila.
